Primorye Job Market Oversaturated with White-Collars

VLADIVOSTOK. March 5. VOSTOK-MEDIA – A recent survey conducted by Primorsky Krai employment service revealed a huge shortage of blue-collar workforce in Primorye.

According to the survey, the majority of vacancies fall on construction workers. There are 2,700 vacant positions per 45 bricklayers registered in the employment service; 2,400 vacant jobs per just two concrete workers. In addition, there is an acute shortage of steel fixers, house painters and decorators, carpenters, plasterers, motor vehicle drivers, nurses and rice growers in Primorye.

Meanwhile, the survey data showed that the local job market is oversaturated with accountants (1,303 specialists per 42 vacant positions), managerial accountants (1,235 specialists per 18 vacant jobs), lawyers, psychologists, social workers, secretaries, etc.
Vacancies database of the Primorsky Krai employment service contains 40,247 job advertisements, more than half of which falls on Vladivostok.
