Contract on Social Partnership Signed In Brussels This means that Eurocommission recommend to all members of European Union to take measures for ratification of this important Commission in maritime industry.

NAKHODKA. May 29. VOSTOK MEDIA – In May 20 in Brussels the chairman of the Marine Section of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITWF) Brine Orell signed a contract with Eurocommission on social partnership while working on ratification of the Convention № 186 ILO ‘About labor in maritime traffic’. This means that Eurocommission recommend to all members of European Union to take measures for ratification of this important Commission in maritime industry.
The signing of the contract was in the period of holding a session of the Marine Transport Section (MTS) by the European Transport Workers Federation in May 20-21 2008 in Brussels. The main questions of the agenda were mariners’ employment assistance, the discussion of the trade union preparation for collective actions in defense of their workplaces, the discussion of the assistance of the Free Convention for mariners. A. Selentis (Greece) was elected as a chairman of the Mariyime Section; the representatives from Germany, Sweden, Poland and Russia were elected as vice-chairmen. The chairman of the Russian trade union of mariners Igor Pavlov was elected as a vice chairman from European countries which are not members of European Union.
The heads of the maritime trade unions of Russian Far East Nikolay Sukhanov from Nakhodka and Valeriy Berezinsky from Vladivostok were invited to the Session of Maritime Section for the first time.
