Yuzno-Sakhalinsk ‘Fraternizes’ with Korea

VLADIVOSTOK. June 10. VOSTOK MEDIA – Yuzno-Sakhalinsk may have another sister city. The department of information and advocacy of social projects of the Administration of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk reported to RIA Vostok Media that the representatives of the delegation from the city of Sokcho (Republic of Korea) had made such an offer.
In the conference-hall of the Regional Administration the guests of the Korean guests were received by representatives of the municipality with the vice-mayor Vladislav Rukavcom at the head.
The delegation from Korea came to Yuzno-Sakhalinsk to establish cooperation in the sphere of agricultural and sea products processing and realization. The first vice-mayor of Sokcho mr. Chang said to the representatives of the municipality of Korean city would be very interested in discussing the further perspectives in the sphere of sea bioresources.
The chairman of the economic committee of Yuzno-Sakhalinsk Igor Minervin emphasized that the reproduction of mariculture would be possible in cooperation with Korean colleagues. But there is no normative legal base for such a business in Russia. During the meeting the agreement about further examination of the questions was made.
