VLADIVOSTOK. October 14. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Vladivostok civil registry offices have registered 698 births in December this year, including 362 male, 336 female births.
In September, the most popular female names given to a newborn child were Anastasia, Alexandra and Anna. The most popular names for boys were Alexander, Artem and Vladislav.
The list of rare names, along with such quite unusual female names as Zlata and Simona, was added by the all-time popular name Nadezhda. Such male names as Zakhar, Klimenty and Ostan were rarely given to newborn children.
Experts say that parents have a longstanding tendency to name their babies Anastasia and Alexander. More recently, there appeared a new direction towards old Russian names, reported press-service of Vladivostok Administration.
