Sakhalin Woman Tortures her Daughter with Nail-studded Stick

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK. August 16. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Police have launched a criminal investigation after 28-year-old K. Tatyana, of Smirnykh, tortured her daughter.

Police said Tatyana has a long domestic violence history involving her 8-year-old daughter and she had had numerous administrative charges brought against her.

On July 26, 2010, a children’s officer paid a regular visit to Tatyana’s house. When the officer had departed the mother beat her daughter brutally hitting her with a metal mug on her hands and head. That done, the abusive mother took a nail-studded stick and hit her daughter in the back, and then she whipped her several times with a kettle cord.

The young girl has been moved to a local hospital for examination. The woman now faces the loss of parental rights, both for her daughter and 18-month-old son, Sakhalin Prosecutor’s spokesman said.
