Lawyers of Alexander Kashin wrote letters to President Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Lawyers of Alexander Kashin, paralyzed after a car accident due to the fault of the US ex-Consul General in Vladivostok Douglas Kent, wrote letters to President Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel Fried to draw their attention to the distress of the Russian, Gazeta.ru reports.
We remind, Alexander Kashin, a resident of Bolshoi Kamen City, Primorsky Krai, went on an indefinite hunger strike. After that the Department of State offered him a $100 000 compensation but disabled Kashin refused from the sum insufficient for treatment and rehabilitation. He estimates his moral damage at $10 000 000. The hunger-strike is continuing, doctors insist on Kashin’s admission to hospital.
Kashin was paralyzed after the car accident that happened in 1998 due to the fault of the US ex-Consul General in Vladivostok Douglas Kent. Lawyers didn’t manage to initiate criminal proceedings against Kent in view of his diplomatic immunity.
