Vladivostok-Anchorage Flight to be Resumed

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. April 1. VOSTOK MEDIA – The Vladivostok Avia air company and Kamchatka Administration have achieved agreement about resumption of flights between Vladivostok and Alaska via the Yelizovo airport in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The first regular flight will be carried out on July 7.
Tamara Tatushkina, director of the Kamchatka Krai Agency for Tourism, told Vostok Media, opening of the direct flight to Anchorage will let fly to the United States in a faster and more comfortable way. It shall also lead to growth of the flow of tourists who prefer “broken cruises”, when passengers stay aboard for a part of the cruise and reach the places of embarkation themselves.
Flight connection between Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Anchorage was suspended in 2005. The suspension significantly reduced the flow of tourists from the USA and Asia-Pacific Region.
