VLADIVOSTOK. September 1. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The implementation of the major investment projects in the area of oil and gas, including the construction of gas pipeline “Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok”, oil pipeline “Eastern Siberia-the Pacific Ocean”, oil refinery and specialized oil-loading port in Kozmino Bay, continues in Primorsky Krai.

According to the Primorsky Krai Department for Fuel, Energy and Subsurface Use, the construction of the gas pipe “Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok” proceeds as scheduled. General Gas Supply and Gasification Scheme for the populated areas have been already developed. The laydown and storage area for the trunk pipeline parts has been selected as specified in the project.

As part of the first phase it is planned to provide gas supply to the APEC-2012 Summit facilities on Russky Island. Gas supply will be available here in the fourth quarter of 2011. The second phase is to convert to gas the Primorsky Krai-based power supply utilities.

Experts say the use of gas will conserve the regional environment. Boiler-houses will be switched to more cheap and nature-friendly energy source. This project is economically advantageous for cities and populated areas of the region.

The supplied gas is expected to be processed in Primorsky Krai. The decision to construct LNG plant in Primorsky Krai has been already made. The construction of gas chemical facility is planned as the a further step.

The construction of the oil refinery with capacity of 20 million tons annually is yet another major project, which is under implementation in Primorsky Krai. The project provides for the advanced processing of crude oil at the highest world standards. Production of the plants will be sold on both domestic and foreign markets. As part of the first phase it is planned to produce a wide range of products: gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel oil, propane, butane, coke, sulfur, and other oil products.
