Two Lawmakers Detained on Fraud Charges

Police said the suspects attempted to swindle $162,000 out of a Vladivostok-based businessman.
VLADIVOSTOK. September 1. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The police have launched a criminal investigation against two Vladivostok lawmakers on charges of corruption on an especially large scale.
Vadim Glazunov and Sergei Sychyov were detained following a carefully planned operation of Primorye law enforcement officers.
Police said the suspects attempted to swindle 5 million rubles ($162,000) out of a Vladivostok-based businessman, but their plot was foiled by the police.
A special investigative committee has been set up to investigate the attempted fraud, a police official said.
