Chrysanthemum White Rust Threatens Primorsky Krai
White Rust is one of the most dangerous and persistent fungal diseases of chrysanthemum.
VLADIVOSTOK. October 31. VOSTOK-MEDIA - Chrysanthemum White Rust threatens Primorsky Krai, Vitaly Salenko, Deputy Head of Regional Office of Rosselkhoznadzor for Primorsky Krai, told RIA Vostok-Media.
Regional Office of Rosselkhoznadzor for Primorsky Krai has taken preventive measures to contain the spread of the dangerous and persistent plant disease called Chrysanthemum White Rust.
Primorsky Krai Office of Rosselkhoznadzor has established phytosanitary quarantine control over garden plots where the focus of the quarantine plant disease had been earlier detected. The plot of land is located in the outskirts of Vladivostok and is owned by a resident of the city. The measure is aimed at preventing further spread of this dangerous disease in Primorsky Krai.
The quarantine phytosanitary control measures being taken prohibit the use, procurement and sale of cultivated planting chrysanthemum material. Along with the preventive measures, Rosselkhoznadzor plans to carry out a number of chemical and agrotechnical measures aimed at localizing and abortion of the plant disease.
According to phyto-sanitary control experts, Chrysanthemum White Rust affects all Chrysanthemum species, and is one of the most dangerous and persistent fungal disease. So far, the disease has been spotted in Botanical Gardens (Far Eastern Branch of RAS), the city of Artem and Shtykovo village, Shkotovsky district.
