Experts do not rule out the possibility that the tigers might have been killed in a fight with a brown bear.

VLADIVOSTOK. March 2. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Two female Siberian tigers were killed in fights with a brown bear, which occurred in Sikhote Alin State National Biosphere Reserve located in Primorsky Krai, officials said.

Primorsky Krai Hunting Department said the conflict occurred on Jan. 21 at Kunaleika River, where the remains of the radio-labeled tiger named Vera were found.

After the radio collar broke in 2007 the tiger was captured for the second time and a new collar was attached to it. When Vera died she was 8 years old and is thought to have had two tiger cubs.

Primorsky Krai Hunting Department officers said the tiger might have died in yet anther deadly encounter with the brown bear. When tiger Anya was captured in 2009 she was 1.8 years old.
