Russia Improving Its Image
BBC released its poll.
VLADIVOSTOK. April 2. VOSTOK MEDIA – The attitude of foreign states residents towards Russia has considerably improved. The conclusion was drawn from a poll held by the BBC World Service across 34 countries.
The attitude to Russia changed more strongly than to other 13 countries that were provided in the poll. According to its results the most positively viewed states are Germany and Japan, the most negatively – Iran and Israel.
President of the international polling firm GlobeScan Doug Miller said that Iran had been paying for its opposition to the United States in its nuclear program, BBC reports.
Moreover, for the first time in four years the attitude to the United States has slightly changed. The influence of Washington is viewed positive by 35% of the polled against 31% in last year. Almost half of the polled consider the US influence negative that is still less than in last year.
The poll also says that 78% of the polled Russians consider that Russia plays a positive role in the world.
The poll has been conducted for the forth time and covered 17 500 respondents from 34 countries.
