Many cars stuck on the snow-covered roadways.

VLADIVOSTOK. November 2. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Despite the assurances of Vladivostok authorities that the city was ready for future snow and ice events and the two weekend days to clean snow from roads and sidewalks the city has been paralyzed by snow and ice. Public transport buses were held back from their routes by snow. Many cars stuck on the snow-covered roadways.

At present Khabarovsk-Vladivostok federal highway is a sheet of ice with an occasional clear spot here and there. Road graders removed snow but it was made all too late. The layer of ice had already covered the motorways.

Cars are moving as slowly as possible trying not to get into an accident and thus causing traffic jams within the whole city. The majority of suburbans remained at home because bus drivers refused to drive there. The snow caused a number of car accidents across the city.
