Consumer prices in the capital of Primorsky Krai fly above Moscow, Arkhangelsk and Omsk.

VLADIVOSTOK. November 2. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Journalists from a Moscow daily have proposed an unusual method to estimate price level in the region. To carry out estimation the journalists reckoned up the cost of cooking a panful of borsch in several Russian cities: Moscow, Vladivostok, Belgorod, Omsk, Ulyanovsk and Arkhangelsk.

To cook the dish they used a side of beef, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, beetroot, garlic, tomato paste and sour cream.

The highest priced borshch was found in Vladivostok with the cost of ingredients totaling RUR 312. Trailing behind are Belgorod (RUR 260.5), Ulyanovsk (260), Arkhangelsk (249), Moscow (244) and the least expensive borshch was found in Omsk, where the cost of the ingredients is RUR 224.3.
