Yury Trutnev Visited Far Eastern Leopard

VLADIVOSTOK. April 3. VOSTOKMEDIA – Yury Trutnev, the RF Minister for natural Resources and Ecology, the Administration of Primorskiy Krai and WWF held a meeting ‘Preservation of far eastern Leopards and Siberian Tiger’ at the Land of Leopard in Primorskiy Krai on Thursday.
Yuriy Trutnev together with his Deputy Renat Gizatulin, the Vive Governor of Primorskiy Krai Pavel Popov and the chief manager of the local branch of WWF Yuriy Darman flew over south-east part of Primorye on helicopter.
They inspected the route where the gas pipeline will be constructed. It will cross recently constructed Federal Reserve ‘Loepardoviy’. The issues concerning adjustments in the Federal Reserve borders so that the transportation corridor where there will be railroad, gas pipeline and other linear objects. It will facilitate the development of trade with Korea and China. The border of the reserve in Melkovodnaya bay will be shifted and at the same time a new territory will be added to the reserve.
The scientists discussed the issue concerning the population of the rare cats. If any adverse conditions occur it may extinct completely. The Government has already taken measures to protect them.
The issue concerning the trees felling, preservation of the Siberian tiger and its habitet arose at the meeting.
In conclusion the guests visited the WWF Visit Center – ‘The Land of Leopard’ and inspected construction site of the central farmstead of the Special Protected Natural Reserve.
