Kozmino Oil Terminal Hits 10 Million Ton Mark

VLADIVOSTOK. September 3. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Kozmino oil terminal hit the ten million ton mark, as the tanker Forward Fortune was loaded on September 1 marking a milestone for oil and gas industry workers.

Starting with 9 tankers a month this winter, the oil terminal in Kozmino has gradually increased its capacity to 13 tankers a month. The hundredth tanker handled by the oil terminal marked the upcoming Oil and Gas Industry Appreciation Day. The total volume of crude shipped from Kozmino reached the 10 million ton mark, which is equal to 2,325 trains or 165,000 cars with crude.

The past eight months showed that the Kozmino oil terminal is running as planned and in strict adherence to the schedule, as committed volumes of crude are shipped for export to the Pacific Rim countries. In September and October, the oil terminal is expected to handle 14 tankers a month. Such smooth and planned operation is a perfect guarantee that the plan to ship 15 million tons of Eastern Siberia–Pacific Ocean grade oil in 2010 will be fulfilled.
