German Envoy to Russia Visits Primorye

Vice-Governor Igor Ulitsky held a meeting with Michael Kindsgrab, a senior official at the German embassy in Moscow, to discuss ways to expand cooperation between Primorye and Germany.

VLADIVOSTOK. November 3. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Primorye Vice-Governor Igor Ulitsky held a meeting with Michael Kindsgrab, a senior official at the German embassy in Moscow, who has arrived in Vladivostok as part of his fact-finding trip across Russia.

Igor Uleisky welcomed Herr Michael Kindsgrab warmly on his first visit to Primorye. During the meeting the Vice-Governor told Michael Kindsgrab about the promising large-scale projects underway in Primorye.

“As it has in the past, fisheries, mining, transportation and agriculture are the major industries in the local economy,” Igor Uleisky said at the meeting. “In addition, a number of oil and gas projects such as the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline and the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipeline are being implemented in Primorye.”

Vice-Governor told the German official about some shipbuilding projects financed by Russian and foreign investors, the local demographic policy and health care, including a range of governmental initiatives aimed to increase birth rate and reduce death rate, as well as to improve public health care and promote of healthy lifestyle.

Herr Michael Kindsgrab thanked the Vice-Governor for the warm hospitality.

Igor Uleisky stressed the necessity of further strengthening of economic and business cooperation between Primorye and Germany. “There is a massive construction projects underway on Russky Island, including some very complicated engineering projects, and parhaps we will need the experience of German engineering companies.”

At the close of the meeting, the officials have agreed to work closely on expanding the all-round cooperation between Primorye and Germany.
