First screened in Vladivostok in November 2009, Future Shorts has become a permanent feature in New Wave Cinema’s event calendar due to its growing popularity among the Vladivostok community.

The New Wave Cinema said this fall’s Future Shorts program includes 11 short movies and animation ranging in length from 90 seconds to 20 minutes, with a total running time of about 90 minutes. The program includes the Oscar-winning "The New Tenants", EFA Short Film nominee "Poste Restante", and "The Guiding Light" which has been entered into a number of prestigious film festivals, such as Clermont-Ferrand, Rotterdam Film Festival and Woodstock.

This fall Future Shorts will present a vast array of short movie genres from comedy and animation to drama and thrillers.

The London-based Future Shorts is the cutting-edge short-film label and the largest international short film festival, with program screenings taking place in over 25 countries worldwide. In Russia, the short film screenings are held five times a year – in summer, fall, winter, and in spring – plus an extra screening. Each program includes 10 to 15 short films with a total running time of 90 to 120 minutes.

In Vladivostok, Future Shorts screenings will take place in the New Wave Cinema only.
