KHABAROVSK. On November 3 VOSTOK MEDIA - The Governor of Khabarovsk Territory Vyacheslav Shport congratulated compatriots on the Day of National Unity.
The message reads in part:
"On November 4 in Russia is the Day of National Unity. The roots of public holiday leave for the heroic events of 1612. Then, by the will of the people, as a result of its cohesion and unity, the country's fate was decided. The people's militia led by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky liberated Moscow from foreign invaders. The victory opened the way for the new historical realities. At that time the end of wars and conflicts began.
The events of the past centuries remind us, the Russians, the great power of the human community, the meaning of patriotism and citizenship in building a free, democratic state.
