Spring Stories Art Dolls Exhibit Opens in Vladivostok

VLADIVOSTOK. March 4. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Arsenyev State Museum opens Spring Stories arts and crafts exhibition today at 4:00 p.m.

A spokesman for Arsenyev State Museum told Vostok-Media about 40 hand-made dolls and Teddy bears made by Vladivostok Puppet Masters’ Society and flower arrangements by Breath of East studio will be exhibited at the museum. In addition, guests will have a chance to see patchwork, beadweaving and embroidery works.

Art dolls are has begun to be accepted as high art around the world. Art doll makers from different countries unite in creative unions, organize themed exhibitions in Germany, Holland, France, Turkey, Israel, Greece and in other countries. Present-day art dolls are made with the use of wide array of materials: plastic, clay, wood, cloth and paper, china, etc.

Teddy Bear Makers Society comes from former United States President Theodore Roosevelt, whose nickname was "Teddy". Teddy bears quickly became popular all over the world especially in the US. Collectible Teddy bears are all very unique and different. The price for such doll may sometimes reach 1,000 Euros. Price on a teddy bear depends on the skills and popularity of a doll maker.

The exhibition will run through March 24.
