Nicaragua Acknowledged Independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia
President Daniel Ortega announced that they acknowledged independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia
VLADIVOSTOK. 4 September. VOSTOK-MEDIA. “Nicaragua acknowledged independent Abkhazia and South Ossetia because we support Russia in the conflict”, - The Earthtimes cited words of Nicaragua President, Daniel Ortega. He criticized position of European countries. “World is under threat because of thoughtless policy of hegemony”, - he said.
Adviser of the Russian Federation Embassy in Nicaragua Valeriy Bobrov seconded the information. Nicaragua is the first country after Russia to acknowledge independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Official representatives of Armenia and Byelorussia repeatedly declared their support of Russian position. Though, these countries have not acknowledged republics independence yet.
Byelorussia is supposed to be the second country to acknowledge independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Byelorussian Ambassador Vasiliy Dolgolev declared that they could state their support and acknowledge Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
