Russia to Provide Funding for Vostochny Launch Pad Construction Project

VLADIVOSTOK. January 5. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Russian Government will provide funding for the Vostochny launch pad construction project in the Amur Region, Russia’s Far East, Balance Intelligent Manufacturing website quoted Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as saying in a recent media briefing.

“We plan to create a new launching site there,” Prime Minister said.

Mr. Putin acknowledged that this is a rather expensive and challenging project, but it is of great importance for Russia. He said that money for the initial phase of construction of the Vostochny launching facility would be allocated this year.

In addition, Vladimir Putin noted that it is impossible to implement this project as well as other projects on the development of the Russian Far East without qualified staffing. “We plan to speed up construction of educational institutions on Russky Island and continue to provide financial support to the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences,” he said.
