Drivers will pay half as much for transportation tax.

VLADIVOSTOK, January 5. VOSTOK-MEDIA. The 7,5 percent gas price increase was offered to be compensated by as much as 50% decrease in transport tax by government. This way, however, the costs of owning a vehicle will increase by at least 50%.
Lets remember, that in May of last year the Ministry of Transportation offered to get rid of transportation tax altogether, and compensate it by gasoline excise tax increase. This idea was not supported back then. In December, however, changes have been made to the tax code, allowing for gasoline excise tax increase starting from January 1, although the gasoline prices were going to be increased even without the additions to the tax code.
