Seoul and Yakutsk Forge Relations

The delegation of South Korea currently staying on a five-day visit in the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic expressed its interest in a proposal to take part in the Yakutia International Investment Forum. The forum will be held in Yakutsk in summer, Sakha News reports.
The South Korean delegation consists of 29 members including the Vice Consul of the Republic of Korea in Vladivostok Myung Su Yu, representatives of LG International Corporation, KORES and POSCO. The schedule of the visit includes summing up the results of cooperation and discussion of its further perspectives.
In the course of the meeting of the Yakutia Minister of Foreign Affairs Georgy Nikonov and Executive Vice President of LG International Corporation Yang Bon Ha, both counterparts noticed the progress in development of the Elkon uranium deposit, construction of a cement factory, a railway, mining of iron ore, coal, and complex development of South Yakutia.
Yang Bon Ha stressed that Yakutia and LG had been cooperating for 15 years that turned into relations between Yakutia and Korea at large. That’s why it’s time to start the thorough development of joint business.
