The park received two Himalayan black bear cubs found in the Ussuriisk taiga.

VLADIVOSTOK. April 5. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The Safari-park located in Shkotovsky District, Primorsky Krai, has received two Himalayan black bear cubs.

The bear cubs were found in the Ussuriisk taiga three weeks ago when loggers cut an oak tree under which there was a lair. The she-bear got out from the lair and ran away, while the two bear cubs remained inside of it. The loggers brought them in Pozhiga village, Dalnerechensk District, to save them from starvation. The 3-month-old bears spent some time with local residents, but later they were handed over to specialists.

The two female bear cubs were named Masha and Dasha. They now live in a worm house with people. In the daytime they are let out to walk around the park with other wild animals. They are fed predominantly on milk.

For the time being, the bear cubs will live in the Safari park. Primorsky Krai Hunting Supervision Department will decide what to do next with the animals.
