Vladimir Litvinov – Opponents of Right Steering Wheel Do Not Have Any Chance

VLADIVOSTOK. May 5. VOSTOK MEDIA – A leader of the Social movement Freedom in Choosing has commented the situation with new initiatives of a member of the Federation council in Karelia, the former head of the State Automobile Inspectorate Vladimir Fedorov.
He considers that the opponents of the right steering wheel fail to forbid it in Far East. Forbidden measures are ineffective in such a zone where it is necessary to use economical measures. But for the present time in Far East there is no new manufacture and there is no competitive cars in the market segment where there are Japanese cars.

Litvinov said that reformers should not forget about huge holdings in the budget which are possible because of annual car trade.
We should note that Vladimir Fedorov, a member of the Federation council of Karelia the former head of the State Automobile Inspectorate has announced the intention in the Federal law to register the questions of car inspection certification and to impose limitation of the exploitation of the cars with the right steering wheel. In the senator’s opinion the forbidden of the registration of the cars with the right steering wheel should be done by degrees. The car customers are not guilty. The term of registration ban should be determined. One of variants of the strife with right steering wheel cars is the increase of the customs duties for these cars. In such a case it will be unprofitable to buy them.
It is necessary to provide an economical part of this limmitation. All car factories are in the European part of Russia. We may negotiate with one of South Korean car producers and to build a factory in Far East – said Vladimir Fedorov.
