High-ranking Chinese officials have submitted several promising projects to Vladivostok authorities.

VLADIVOSTOK. November 5. VOSTOK-MEDIA – A large Chinese delegation of the city of Mudanjiang has paid a visit to the Legislative Assembly of Primorsky Krai. The delegation was welcomed by the Chairman of the Primorsky Krai Parliament Viktor Gorchakov and his deputy Jambulat Tekiev, press office of the regional Parliament told RIA Vostok-Media.

Xu Guango, head of the Chinese delegation, said that the aim of the visit of Mudanjiang officials is to promote the bilateral co-operation between Primorsky Krai and the Chinese city.

“This time we came to Vladivostok to make a proposal on development of relationships between our regions. I have been working in the region near the Russian border for many years and I have always felt a strong sense of support from the Russian side. And I hope to find some support today,” – said Xu Guango, addressing the Chairman Viktor Gorchakov.

The Chinese delegation has submitted several promising projects to Vladivostok officials. First of all, according to them, it is vital to resume air service between Vladivostok and Mudanjiang, which had once been suspended for a variety of reasons. Mudanjiang Administration believes that the absence of through air service hampers effective communication between our regions. Mudanjiang authorities proposed financial support to launch to project.

The second high-priority issue raised by the Chinese delegation relates to the transportation, namely, giving private cars the green light to cross freely the Sino-Russian border. The issue has been debated for many years at various levels and venues. But the project has not been brought to live yet. Meanwhile, Governors of Primorsky Krai and Heilongjiang province favor the idea. Bur the question at hand should be decided at the highest level.

Another project proposed by the Chinese side can be implemented at the local level in the near future. Mudanjiang Administration invites Russian investors to take part in the construction of hotel and tourist complex at Jin Bohu Lake. The project involves the construction of the “international village”, where holiday makers from China, Korea, Japan and Russia will vacation. According to Xu Guango, this is a high-priority project that will boost tourism in the region.

Viktor Gorchakov promised to support the proposed by the Chinese side projects in every possible way as well as to implement those projects which have been already launched. “Our national leaders have signed a host of agreements on the co-operation between the northeast provinces of China, the Russian Far East and Siberia,” – he said. – “The agreements involve a range of projects, which we previously discussed. I am happy that they have been assigned to the government level. Now its up to us to go together ahead with whats been planned.”
