Primorskiy Children’s Oncohematological Centre Asks for Help

The number of disabled children in Russia is now 700 thousand! And the number is growing every year. For last 5 years it has increased by 155 thousand. The most common diseases are of blood and blood-forming organs, respiratory organs, malignant growth and etc. Children having been treated in Primorskiy Centre with the diagnosis of leukemia, malignant growth, inoperable benignant growth and etc. are entitled to get a disability status for 5-10 years.
Nowadays most of children can be cured. But many centres and hospitals do not have enough finances to provide their patients with necessary medication and equipment. Medical personnel of the children’s centre is highly professional, they work on special rehabilitation programs for children.
But qualitative and professional treatment is not possible without necessary medication and equipment. Prices on life-keeping medication are growing almost every week. Chemical and supporting medications, expendable materials are necessary every day. Finances programmed in the budget do not cover all expenses which do not allow providing all children with thorough treatment. The most critical situation is with medical equipment for supporting life processes of children, blood analysis and blood cleansing.
Now the children’s division needs equipment for physiotherapeutic treatment, mobile 4-placed compressor inhalation system NIKO, 2-regimed compressor nebuliser, camera “Gorniy Vozdukh”, automatic blood enumerator. That is why Vladivostok public organization “Children in Danger” has opened an account for gathering finances.
