‘Vladivostok Tigers’ Win Dragon Boat Racing

VLADIVOSTOK. July 6. VOSTOK-MEDIA – About 600 sportsmen took part in the International Regatta On a Cup of the Governor Of Primorye territory held on the territory of Amursky bay on July 3rd – 6th.

This year competitors for the main prize were teams from Australia, Uzbekistan, Russia, USA and China. Team categories included Mens, Womens, Juniors and Mixed teams. Vladivostok Tigers won the Cup of the Governor Of Primorye territory.

200-meter race was the most interesting event. Far Eastern National Technical University team won the junior category race. ‘Elegia Unost’ team achieved victory among mixed teams. Vladivostok Tigers won Men’s category and ‘Dragon Fly’ gained prize in Womens’ category.

Dragon Boat Racing has become one of the trademarks of Primorskiy Krai. The competition became one of the most popular sports events in Russia. The races are very popular not only among professional racers but also among amateurs.

This sport has been developed in the Region since 1998.
