Empty Fuel cans March: an unregulated policy of rise in prices led to inflation

VLADIVOSTOK. May 7. VOSTOK MEDIA – The social movement the Primorsky Krai Humane society of automobilists protection has directed a petition to the President and the State Duma. Hundreds of people signed this document during the protest action which took place in Vladivostok and was known as the Empty Fuel cans March.
Vostok media reports that the petition of the Primorsky Krai Humane society of automobilists protection said – In April 9, 2008 in Primorsky Krai the petrol price rose again. Nowadays in some cases the prices for oil products have run to the international level. But the salary of the majority of Russians and especially in Primorsky Krai is too low. An unregulated policy of price increase will lead to inflation. The increase of the cost price for products and service is the result of such a policy. The reduction of buying power is an obstacle to the process of the development of the city and the whole country as well.
We consider that the price formation depends on political will but not on economical prerequisites. And there are no economical prerequisites for fuel price increase in Russia and in Primorsky Krai in particular. The analyses of world tendencies in price formation can draw a conclusion that the domestic prices don’t depend on world ones. The government has its own measures for price formation. Only the President of Russia can change the situation.
We, undersigned, ask you to take measures for price regulations within the Russian home market.
