Dmitry Medvedev Celebrates the 1st Anniversary of his Presidency

MOSCOW. May 7. VOSTOK-MEDIA – On Thursday, President Medvedev will begin his second year as the head of the state. On May 7, 2008 he took an oath and came into Presidency. He became the third president of the Russian Federation and the youngest for the last century head of the state. For the president it will be routine working day. No festive events were planned.
Entirely routine schedule of this day reflects the rhythm of Kremlin’s work for the whole year. The young leader had hardly expected that with barely three months into his presidency he would actually be called upon to act as Commander-in-Chief and assume executive responsibility in issuing orders to impose peace on Georgia. He couldn’t have foreseen either that he would have to tackle issues when what has been achieved in social politics, economy and banking sector during decades would be falling to pieces right here and there.
Russian political analysts believe that that for the last year Dmitry Medvedev approved himself a good leader who is able to work within crisis conditions and to invite the Opposition into the dialogue with state officials.
