More than 200 People to Take Part in the Ecological Forum “Nature without Borders”

VLADIVOSTOK. September 7. VOSTOK-MEDIA – More than 200 people have been registered for participation in the International Ecologic Forum “Nature without Borders” which is to be held in Vladivostok on October 8-10. The list of participants includes delegations from China, Japan and Mongolia, press-service office of the Primorsky Krai Administration told RIA Vostok-Media news agency.

The forum will draw regional state officials, the Russian and foreign scientists, representatives of universities, businessmen, manufacturers of the nature-oriented facilities as well as providers of environmental services.

The participants will discuss topics on mutually advantageous cooperation in the area of marine ecology. The list of the issues to be discussed at the forum includes: the current state of marine and coastal ecosystems, advanced technologies in ecological safety of water areas, and the international co-operation in the sphere of marine ecology. The issues relating to sustainable development of coastal areas of the Far Eastern seas in the light of the implementation of the large-scale projects in Primorsky Krai as part of the preparation for APEC-2012 Summit are items high on the agenda.

The participants agree that the joint ecological projects will prove useful in preservation of the environment. Such events as this forum offer the possibilities to discuss the very topical issues, search for ecological solutions and to share experience. In addition, presentations of the cutting-edge technologies in the area of environmental conservation are planned within the forum.

The programme of the forum includes a plenary session, breakout sessions and round table discussions. In addition, the exhibition complex of the Primorsky Krai Administration “Artetazh” will host the specialized exhibition “Morskaya Ekologiya” (Marine Ecology) within the framework of the forum. The exhibition will feature demonstration of recent developments in the field of environmental conservation applicable to marine ecology, including scientific research projects made by staff researchers of the institutes of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, advanced solutions in the area of oil spill prevention control and countermeasure as well as marine environmental monitoring facilities.
