Primorskiy Krai Is the Strategic Partner of Republic of Korea

VLADIVOSTOK. 7 November. VOSTOK-MEDIA. Chairman of Primorskiy Krai Legislative Assembly met Ambassador on energy and resources cooperation of Republic of Korea, Syng Chzhe Yong and Consul General of Korea, Kim Mu Yong.
Speaker of the Legislative Assembly said that Korean president, Mr. Ly Myong Bak, stated that Russia and Korea did not have any controversies on issues. And both countries can easily work on prosperity together.
Primorskiy Krai has good chances to become a centre of Russian-Korean cooperation especially in the framework of the 13th Summit of Regional Administrations On Cooperation and Exchange. It has stated several questions such as opportunities for development of transport and logistic mechanisms in the region, for instance, a transit line Sokcho – Zarubino, and implementing projects on interregional border relations. Oil and gas pipes, modern industry technologies, development of tourism and investment projects APEC-2012 are the most perspective tracks of cooperation.
Mr. Gorchyakov also said about the interest Primorians have in Korea and mentioned recently conducted city program Korean Days in Vladivostok. He has stated countries are getting closer on their policy and economic issues when two nations are interested in cultures of each other. It brings trust in Russian-Korean relations.
Mr. Syng Chzhe Yong noted that he participated in the meeting of Russian and Korean presidents. Primorye was said to be the centre of Russian-Korean cooperation, Primorye plays the leading role establishing tighter relations. Primorye will become a crossroad of three silk ways. The first one is the railroad between Russia and Korea. Railroad between Hasan and Radjin has been already started. The second way is a united energy system of Russia and Korea that will become an international energy system in the North-East Asia. The third is about investments in agriculture and ecology. These projects are expected to be implemented in short term period.
Ambassador promised that delegations of specialists from Korea would soon visit Primorye to start working towards further cooperation.
