The Hotel Business Leaders will Flow in Vladivostok
The expansion of the world hotel chains will make will make local hotel business to do their best to survive
VLADIVOSTOK. April 8. VOSTOK-MEDIA – A new hotel belonged to a famous global chain will be constructed near the marine passenger terminal of Vladivostok.
The representatives of the famous hotel chain Lotte that had visited Vladivostok in March confirmed their intention to erect their hotel at the capitol of the coming APEC-2012 Summit. This decision was made after 2 years of negotiations.
The hotel will be built near the Karabelnaya Naberezhnaya near the bridge over the Golden Horn bay under construction, the base of the RF Navy Pacific Fleet and memorial complex – submarine C-56. The hotel is supposed to be built by 2012, though the project did not passed all stages of registration of the land for construction. But at least the building looks more original than the one that will be built in Moscow by the Lotte Company.
Nikolay Matvienko, the chaian of investment committee of administration of Primorskiy Krai holds that the city needs 15 thousand hotel rooms not only for APEC-2012 Summit but also for further development and implementation of the tourist programme. The base for hospitality will facilitate the flow of tourists and develop export system of educational and public health services.
Besides the French hotel chain Accor Group, American chains Marriott International and Hilton and Japanese Toyoko also showed interest in Vladivostok. Marriot will build the four-star hotel in one of the oldest quarters, where the city executive board plans to create landscape architectonic museum. The quarter is situated within 1st Morskaya and Arsenieva streets. The hotel will be designed in the style specific for early XX century and focused on middle class clients appreciating European comfort and coziness. There will also be underground parking, lots for tourist buses.
Authorities from the city executive border believe that emerging of the world-wide hotel chains will raise the bar of services and make local hotel businesses improve their services and it will facilitate development of adjoining businesses.
In 2008 about 40 thousand tourists visited Primorskiy Krai. Officially the flow of tourists declines (in 2005 the number was 125 thousand) because shuttle trader and Chinese citizens arriving in the region with commercial purposes. 80 % of all tourists that arrive in Primorskiy Krai go to Vladivostok.
The number of tourists will increase by 2-3 times in the year 2012.
