Foreign companies owe sailors over USD 700,000 in back pay

VLADIVOSTOK. June 8. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The Federal Labour Inspectorate based in the Primorsky Krai has submitted evidence obtained as a result of resulting from the probe into the matter of sailors several months pay arrears to the Regional Transportation Prosecutors office.
The obtained evidence was submitted for institution of criminal proceedings against managers of foreign companies.
Nearly one hundred sailors from Primorsky Krai who haven’t got wages for over three months are demanding arrest of the six foreign vessels that are currently staying at the port of Nakhodka.
Foreign companies owe sailors over USD 700,000 in back pay. By now, four vessels that fly foreign flag are staying at the port of Nakhodka, two other ships are staying at roadstead. The sailors have already sent the claim to the prosecutor’s office of Primorskiy Krai and Nakhodka city court with demand to arrest and subsequently vend these ships.
