Alpine skiers will train in Kamchatka Peninsula for 2010 Vancouver Paralympic Games

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. July 8. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The candidates to the Paralympic alpine skiing national team arrive to Kamchatka on July 10. They will stay there for almost a month. The sportsmen will train at snow patches of Kozelsk volcano, where summer training camp has been already created. This is the only place in the world that provides summer training for snow skiing at a height of 600 meters (2,000 feet) above the sea level in comfortable conditions.
The line-up that will defend country’s honor in the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games is to be formed based on the results of pre-competition training. There are six alpine skiers from Kamchatka among the candidates to the national team: Danil Anokhin, Elena Kudyakova, Oksana Miryasova, Evgenya Ponamoreva, Aleksandra Frantseva and Ivan Frantsev.
