Present deputies voted for Constitutional amendments initiated by Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev

KHABAROVSK. 8 December. VOSTOK-MEDIA. Today deputies of Khabarovsk government voted for constitutional amendments initiated by Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev. One amendment is “About changing tenure of President of the Russian Federation and the State Duma” and another is “About supervisory powers of the State Duma related to Government of the Russian Federation”.
At the Legislation Assembly meeting there were 19 deputies present out of 26. They unanimously voted for amendments to the Russian Constitution. Earlier, amendments were approved by the State Duma and Federation Council. So as the amendments are enshrined in law 2/3 of representing bodies of the Federation subjects should vote for. Afterwards, the document must be signed by President. The amendments imply a President’s tenure to be 6 years and annual reports of the Government to the State Duma.
