Protocol on Bilateral Cooperation Signed Between Amur Oblast and Heihe City
Sales turnover between two bordering regions has grown by 60% for the last year.
BLAGOVESHCHENSK. April 9. VOSTOK MEDIA – A protocol on bilateral cooperation has been signed between the Amur Oblast and Heihe City.
The Amur Oblast Government told Vostok Media, at the talks in Blagoveshchensk the Russian side was represented by deputy chairman of the Amur Oblast Government Ronis Sharipov, the Chinese side – by the chairman of the Heihe City People’s Government Zhang Xianjuan.
The share of China in the external sales turnover of the Amur Oblast accounts for 75%. For 2007 the turnover between two neighboring regions has grown by 60%. China started to sell road construction equipment and machinery. The activity of regional Russian tourist companies is more than at 90% focused on China.
The talks also touched upon the project of a bridge across the Amur River near Blagoveshchensk City. The Chinese side reaffirmed its complete readiness to start construction. Ronis Sharipov remarked that “the governor and government of the Amur Oblast undertake all efforts to speed up beginning construction of the bridge.”
On results of the talks the Protocol on improving border cooperation for 2008 was signed by the counterparts. According to the protocol the sides shall continue their work on elaborating a mechanism for cooperation between control services at border passes, undertake a number of measures on improving conditions for tourists and providing their safety. Each sides guarantees broadening of humanitarian exchanges.
