The Rights Advocates Make Government to Construct Disposal Works in Vladivostok

Thanks to their activity the lives of 800,000 people will be improved

VLADIVOSTOK. April 9. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The state budget 2009 provides 342 million rubles for construction of disposal works in Vladivostok and carrying out other necessary measures concerning the implementation in the city sewage water treatment system. The amount of money exceeds the money spent on these purposes in previous year. The construction works will commence in 2009. It became possible thanks to the work that was done by the Far Eastern health protection foundation in the framework of the project ‘Clear sea for Vladivostok’
Petr Sharov, the manager of the project stated that in the course of the meetings with state officials the position of local citizens was expressed and got back-up of the authorities. The necessary amount of money was appropriated for these purposes.
The construction of disposal works in Vladivostok has been discussed since 1980s but it was too difficult for Government to implement the project in those anything but simple years.
The right advocates collected more than 1500 signatures under the application to the Governor of Primorskiy Krai with demand to solve the issue concerning the cleaning of sea water.
14 deputies of the regional legislative assembly and Vladivostok city hall expressed their solidarity and support of the people’s demand through one of the3 local newspapers.
The main aim of the human rights activists was to set item of expense on the construction of disposal works in the regional budget on 2009 and they achieved the goal.
