20 citizens of the USA were taken captive by the pirates for the first time over 200 years

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKIY. April 9. VOSTOK-MEDIA – U.S. Navy detachment sets out to release Maersk Alabama ship that was assaulted by pirates near Somalia coasts. The detachment is headed by destroyer frigate armed with torpedoes and Tomahawk cruise missiles. The frigate is accompanied by 6 vessels at least.
Meanwhile the company – ship owner confirmed that the American container carrier is at the time under control of the crew but there is still one hostage in hands of pirates.
The crew member of the Maersk Alabama stated on air of CNN on the cell phone from the board of the ship that Richard Phillips, the captain of the ship is till under control of pirates that moved to emergency boat. The sailors tried to exchange the hostage on previously captured pirate, though the criminals broke word and did not let the captain go. Soon after the crew of Maersk Alabama offered to the criminals food assistance that was on board of the ship reserved for disembarkation in the port of Kenya.
Recently the Somali pirates captured cargo vessel Maersk Alabama that belongs to the Dutch company but flying the flag of the USA. 20 citizens of the USA were taken captive by the pirates. This occurred for the first time over 200 years.
