Top-level meeting concurred with the 150th anniversary of Vladivostok
VLADIVOSTOK. 10 December. VOSTOK-MEDIA. The first meeting of the Asia-Pacific Rim City Mayors will be held in Vladivostok in 2010. top-level meeting concurs with the 150th anniversary of Vladivostok.
At the 8th Forum of Mayors of Asia-Pacific Rim in Dalyang (China) delegation from Vladivostok headed by Alexandr Zubritskiy, assistant of city mayor, presented perspectives of international cooperation in the capital of Primorye. After the meeting delegation of Vladivostok gave a request to host next forum of mayors. Alexandr Zubritskiy said that 24 mayors did not object Vladivostok to hold next forum in 2010. “Decision to let Vladivostok host forum will stimulate our city in the international cooperation field and let us find new partners”, - said Alexandr Zubritskiy.
Organization of APR City Mayors was founded in 1994. Now it includes 24 permanent city mayors of the Asia-Pacific countries and around 30 associate members. Summits are held once in two years. Mayors share their experience in problem-tackling in such spheres as: security, construction, ecology, community housing, roads and etc.
