Kamchatka Sea Lions Fell In Love With Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY. April 10. VOSTOK MEDIA – The Kamchtaka government will hold a meeting devoted to protection of the sea lions that made a rookery on a pier in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky several years ago.
The meeting will gather representatives of environmental and monitoring structures, and the company in which pier the sea lions fell in love several years ago.
The sea lions or eared seals used to spend winter in the Avachninskaya bay several years ago and took fancy to an uncared pier of a city fish plant. In March of 2008 the animals were forced by someone to leave their rookery and moved to the protected area of the Kamchatka oil base.
One of the proposed variants of solving the problem is creating an anchored floating rookery off the shore.
