Divers Clear the Bottom of Kozmino Bay, Primorskiy Krai

VLADIVOSTOK. June 10. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Sakhalin divers have removed some 800 boulders from the bottom of Kozmino bay, Primorskiy Krai.

Removal operations were executed in the framework of construction works at the bay located near the deep-water port Vostochny. The bay belongs to Spetsmornefteport - end point of the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline. The boulders were a great hindrance to dredging of the channel for passage of oil tankers of 150 up to 300 th. tons.

These boulders that were up to 4 meter in diameter were removed with assistance of floating crane ‘Chernomorets’.

The divers have also cleared the bay from miscellaneous bulky waste items of artificial origin from the bottom of the channel: fishing nets, ropes, anchors, explosive objects and many other things.
