VLADIVOSTOK. January 11. VOSTOK-MEDIA – The Church of England published the prayer for those who had lost their job as a result of a crisis: “Hear me, when I beseech you in my trolley, and help me to think clearly and soothe my soul.” For those who retained their job the following oration is offered: -”Among all this turmoil help me to retain my job and to toil as hard as possible and to have time to do all that is planned every day.” In every orthodox temple the priests in their sermons are counseling parish on how to survive in this difficult time. “It serves as an answer to the questions that we hear during the confession.”- says one of the Father Superiors of the Moscow Orthodox Temple. “The Church does not need any ‘new devises against the crisis ’, because the old ones went through the gauntlet of centuries. Those who turn to God for help can read in every hymn-book on every topical issue.
Everyone can say a prayer by himself. But so that to give parting words to parishioner that lost his job or got in any other predicament, a clergyman should consider every particular case. One has to understand the way the parishioner lived and worked, things he spends his money on. I think that before getting the advice and assistance one should recognize the degree of his own sin and to confess. In today’s situation the representatives of different affiliations express not only the parting words to the victims of the world financial crisis. The representatives of the upper clergy of the Church of England condemned excessive capital piling-up; and Kormac Murphy O’Connor, the head of the British Catholics stated that as a result of the crisis “capitalism” had died.
Many people will face the unemployment with or without the prayer. According to the European Economic forecast made by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) the current crisis will turn to be the most severe in the modern history. The experts of OECD state that there will be intensive recession in the European economy in the year 2009. As a result of it the labor market will suffer severely: thus according to the experts over 8 million Europeans will lose their jobs, and the average figure of unemployed within the borders of European Union will account for 42 millions – over 10 % of able-bodied population.
The unemployment of the USA is beating the records: 2,6 million people have lost their jobs – the highest mark since 1945. Thus the official level of the unemployment in the USA made up 7,2 %. There are around 1,5 millions unemployed registered in the Russian Federation. The Federal Service of Labor and Employment predicts that in January of the current year some 200,000 will lose their jobs. According to the unofficial data: the experts’ estimations that take into account the people registered in the employment agencies, the quantity of unemployed accounted for 5 millions – 6 % of economically active population.
