Primorskiy Krai Hosts 4th International Ecological Forum ‘Nature without Borders’

VLADIVOSTOK. June 11. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Vladivostok is to host the fourth International Ecological Forum ‘Nature without Borders’ in October.
The three days forum will turn Primorskiy Krai to an international platform for discussion of issues on nature conservation. The international projects on marine ecology will be presented by the participants of the ‘Nature without Borders’ forum. This time main emphasis will be laid on marine ecology.
At present the framework, preparatory arrangements and draft program of the forum have been drawn up. Among the participants of the forum there will be representatives of state and non-governmental organizations from different countries, famous Russian and Foreign environmental scientists, managers and experts from leading enterprises that use natural resources.
As it has in the past, a very eventful business programme awaits all participants. The programme includes ceremonial opening of specialized exhibition of nature-friendly facilities and technology, ecologically clean and environment-oriented production, a plenary meeting, round tables and sectional sessions. The ecologists will discuss the current state of marine and coastal ecosystems, threads to environment, off-shore pollution control technologies, international co-operation in the sphere of marine ecology.
A special emphasis will be on the issues concerning sustainable development of coastal areas of the Far Eastern seas in the light of implementation of the large-scale projects at the territory of Primorskiy Krai in the framework of the preparatory arrangements for hosting APEC-2012 Summit in Vladivostok.
Sergey Darkin, Governor of Primorskiy Krai was initiator of hosting the forum. The Governor believes that only joint efforts of the Government, business and environmental organizations can preserve environment of Primorskiy Krai.
