Water Inrush Floods Coal Mine in Primorye
Responders rescued 12 miners.
VLADIVOSTOK. October 11. VOSTOK-MEDIA – On October 10, at about 8:40 p.m, Oktyabrsky District mine rescue brigade reported a water inrush in a coal mine in Lipovtsy, a village in Primorye.
Primorye Emergency Situations Ministry told the Vostok-Media that no one was injured in the incident.
The mine rescue brigade rescued 12 miners from the flooded mine. The incident poses no threat to the vital facilities of the adjacent settlements.
An emergency response unit has been set up at the incident site. At present two mine rescue brigades are working at the scene.
The restoration of the ventilation system in the affected section of the coal mine and pumping of the water are scheduled to start on October 11.
