The “Putin’s tigress” Tests Working Capacity of the Russian System “GLONASS-GPS”

VLADIVOSTOK. January 12. VOSTOK-MEDIA – A new section appeared on the Internet site of Vladimir Putin, the Prime-Minister of the Russian Federation. Thus, along with activity reports of the government, one can watch the migration of Ussuriisk’s tigress. On August of the previous year Vladimir Putin put a collar with GPS-navigator on the beast’s neck by his own. And now the Prime-minister knows the location the tigress chose for the hibernation.
His first encounter with this tigress was on August 31, 2008 when the Prime-Minister visited Ussuriisk’s conservancy area to check the performance of tigers study.
The scientists showed to the head of the Russian Government special devices that allow to monitor migration path of tigers and to study their physical state. Shortly after, Vladimir Putin went to taiga with his attendants, to the place where 5-year old tigress got into the special trap.
Quite a memorable incident happened there: Vladimir Putin saved the camera crew of the channel “Vesti”. At the time the newsmen were awaiting for arrival of Vladimir Putin not far from the tigress, the journalists just missed to become the objects of the beast attack: the tigress broke loose, but immediately was put immobile by the dexterous shot from the appliance for remote immobilization. Putin hit the beast in the shoulder blade and so he saved the newsmen.
When the tigress fell to sleep, the head of the government put the GPS-collar on her and measured the length and the scientists took a blood test and pulse.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin is still interesting in the destiny of the tigress. The Prime-Minister observes the beast move around the forest through the Internet.
