The monumental art commission of the Moscow City Duma has rejected the idea of erecting a monument to President Putin in Moscow, Izvestia reports.
Lev Lavrenov, chairman of the commission, said: “In civilized countries the significance of public and political activists are estimated in 50 years since they retired. Let’s leave this issue to future generations.”
The monument to Putin was proposed by a Moscow resident Semen Perfilyev “in view of the president’s 55th anniversary as a state present for distinguished historical merits.”
