Japanese Research Vessel Arrives in Vladivostok

VLADIVOSTOK. May 12. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Japanese ship Kaiyo Maru with cadets of Niigata Prefectural Fisheries High School on board arrives in Vladivostok today.

The Japanese research vessel’s visit to Vladivostok is a traditional event, which was first held in 1996 when an agreement on the maintenance of friendly and professional ties was made between Niigata Prefectural Fisheries High School and the Far Eastern Maritime University.

During their three-day stay in Vladivostok, the cadets will learn about the scholastic system applied in the university, visit the Far Eastern Technical Fishery University and Vladivostok’s Fisheries College. They will also go on a sight-seeing tour around the city and take part in a number of sport games with Maritime University students, press statement from the university reported.
