Major General Nikolay Timoshenko Found Shot Dead in his Apartment

VLADIVOSTOK. October 12. VOSTOK-MEDIA – Major General Nikolay Timoshenko, head of the Primorye Emergency Situations Ministry, has been found shot dead earlier this morning in a high-rise apartment block at Nekrasovskaya Street.

The investigative and law enforcement agencies refused to give any comment because the investigation is underway. Officials at the local Emergency Situations Ministry, too, did not elaborate.

A committee of investigative experts has been set up to conduct the investigation. All relevant witnesses are being interviewed.

A source in the police, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly, told the Vostok-Media that Nikolay Tomishenko most likely committed suicide because a suicide note and a gun were found at the scene.

The date of the memorial service is yet to be determined by the family.

Nikolay Timoishenko has served as the Head of the Primorye Emergency Situations Ministry for the past several years. Prior to that, he served as a senior official with Kamchatka Emergency Situations Ministry.
